Dot-peen marking on cylinder head

Customer's need

A company needed to mark the cylinder head and the bearing caps for pairing. 

Advantages/ Summary

The system designed is a dot peen marking station with two i52 mounted on a Z-axis and controlled by two e8 controllers. Warehousing system is a sliding manual drawer. Sensors were added to detect the presence of the part and to position the drawer. 

Machine cycle: The operator loads the drawer of a motor unit and closes it manually. The marking cycle begins only when it is locked. Once the marking operation is completed, the operator can open the drawer to unload the part.
