Dot peen marking on aerospace parts

Customer's need

The customer would like to mark large parts on a dot peen dedicated work station. The parts are crowns and are circular with gear wheels. The type of marking is the serial number. The constraint is to properly position the parts that are heavy.
 

Advantages/ Summary

The suggested system is a marking work station mounted on a frame, with a c303 column machine. The parts are conveyed using a hoist which allows the column to rotate 180° in order to clear the positioning space. The part to be marked is centred with 3 points of support and locked before the marking cycle is launched. The stylus used on this machine is an AERO stylus.
